Week 4 at the Cannons was no longer lonely! I was no longer stuck in the small back corner of the office, excluded from any social contact. A desk opened up in the main part of the ticket sales office and so I saw my opportunity and requested to post up there. Not only did I get a wide open space with a window, I had people to talk and make jokes with. Brian Krol, the ticket sales manager, sat to my right, while Matt Ryan, Event Coordinator, sat to my left. These guys were closer to my age so I was nice to have people to talk and laugh with. Since I was in the middle of the office, I got a front row seat to the office atmosphere. It was fun to see how easily the guys could have fun in their stressful weeks leading up to the Home Opener. Whether the guys were making fun of Griffin, another ticket sales guy, or making jokes about new twitter follower, they always looked like they were enjoying their time with the Cannons. I was also happy that I got to be in near people because I was able to watch and learn how they interacted with customers and other partners. I was able to notice how easily the joking side of the guys could turn serious and convincing as soon as they picked up the phone to sell season tickets. It was nice to know that although it is a workplace and you need to get your job done, you could have fun while doing it.
