Week 3 at the Cannons was a lot more fun because I finally was able to kick start an event that would include high school lacrosse teams around the state: High School Night! This event would be at the Cannons home opener against the Chesapeake Bay hawks on April 27th. High Schools would be invited to bring their lacrosse programs to enjoy a fun night of lacrosse and special prizes! The whole goal of this event would be to bring more high school fans to the games since there hasn't usually been a big HS crowd. To invite teams around the state called for more research. I had to look up numerous schedules to see if teams were even available and then contact all the coaches to see if they were interested in coming. After many drafts, I finally came up with an email that contained all the right information and said it in a way that the coaches would see me as an adult. I was nervous sending out the email, not knowing if people would respond or just ignore it like spam. I was excited that I was able to call myself the "head contact" for High School Night and that I could play such an important role in a huge event as an Intern.
